for the first time the other day  today!

She loves the water - but wasn't a huge fan of staying in the float. You know, that silly thing just gets in her way :-) Not only does she think she can walk, obviously she thinks she can swim as well. She would take our hand and guide us over to the pool as if she wanted to just dive right in. She is fearless, and that scares me. She is too small for the float thing that goes around the upper body, so I am looking at other options. Ideas? I hope she continues to love the water - and I don't want her to be afraid, but she does need a healthy fear. At any rate, she is cute as can be, and I have a slight obsession with bathing suits (for Logan of course!).

when...

When did she grow up?

she just looks so grown up sitting wedged in the corner of the sofa
 in her usual attire:
pj bottoms, milk, and Penny.
Penny is probably her favorite.
Penny is a piano...
she is about bigger than Logan,
but Logan loves holding Penny - all day.

Seems like just yesterday, Logan was laying like this on the sofa
do you love the mess on my table?

She is growing up too fast!

before and after - swing

I am participating again in Pixel Perfect's bloghop - before and after.

before - original
Whoa - crazy picture. I have no idea what my settings were, but clearly they
were not correct :-)

The only thing I like about this photo is Logan's expression.
What you can't see is that
she was looking up at her Daddy about to give her a push -
Her little expression in this picture -
makes me smile

after
I decided to embrace the fact that I obviously chopped off
her hand in the original, and crop it even closer. Also embraced the
funky haze and converted to a nice warm color.

Edited in Lightroom

You can still vote - she's falling behind - haha, she's only competing with about 90,000 others!

update

We have been busy practicing with Logan trying to get her standing, walking, etc...She does great cruising, and has stood independantly a few times. We are working with her trying to get her to stand from the floor, as opposed to always having to have something to pull up on. She had been doing well at physical therapy, and still is, but last week her therapist noticed she was "W-Sitting." This sitting position is usually a phase in a lot of kids, that doesn't affect them. However, in a child that may have mobility issues, and does not like to cross her midline to begin with, this sitting position is not a great idea for her. It does not allow trunk rotation, and is a very secure way of sitting, not making her work and use her muscles. You can read more about "w-sitting" here and here.

this is "w-sitting"

We now find ourselves saying, "fix your legs..." several times a day. Hopefully this is just a phase for her and we can stop it before it becomes a habit.

She will walk behind a push toy. When she walks, she is throwing her right leg out. The therapist will continue to monitor this.

We are so proud of the progress she has made in the last few months, and we look forward to watching her continue to make great progress!

dont forget to vote for Logan!

you don't want...

You don't want to hear about my day do you? I thought you did...:-)

So, this morning I had a maternity photo shoot with a beautiful woman and her awesome little boy. Everything was going great until....the poor little guy got stung by hornets. Yes, plural - hornets. We put him on a swing, and the nest was under the swing. They swarmed him within seconds, and the little guy was stung six times. It was horrible.

So, after that traumatic experience, I came home to put Logan down for her nap. After I got her to sleep, I came downstairs only to hear a loud noise I could not clearly identify. O well...I went about my business and started to upload the pictures (the few we took before the horrible hornet attack...) and I heard it again. So I went to the back door, next thing I know my back glass was shattered. Yep, shattered. It sounded like popcorn popping on the door for about an hour.

This my friends, is crackle glass. But not the kind you desire...

Some punks lovely young children were throwing rocks at windows...
I am assuming they got to see the effect of their work.
I hope they are happy.
I wasn't...at all.

Not the best of days, but hey, it could have been worse.
We were thankful the little fella was not allergic, and he is doing fine now.
He was a trooper, tough little guy.
We are also thankful the glass did not break on both panes, just the outer one.
That would have been an even bigger mess.

And Logan is healthy and happy
and she rocks my socks..haha
