Busy

The word busy pretty much sums up our lives lately. This morning we went to celebrate a friend's first Holy Communion. He is a real ball of energy, and full of life. I am sure this is a special day he will always remember. While we were visiting, he and his big sister thought it would be funny to teach Logan to scream - and boy did they. They had a screaming match for about 15 minutes. Well, they stopped after 15 minutes. Logan on the other hand, has thought it was funny all day!

Tonight, we had pastor appreciation supper at our church, so we went out and enjoyed good food and fellowship. I cooked. Haha. I whipped up some fruit. I hate to admit that I stopped about a mile from the church and poured my store bought, already chunked and mixed, fruit into a glass bowl and covered it nicely with foil. I would never do such.

Here is a picture for ya'll - and there is more to come!

Just a Wednesday -

We had a quiet family day today. Cody was home. Logan always likes it when her Daddy is home, double the attention! After she napped this morning, we went to Wal-Mart (I really do love Target, but Wal-Mart's groceries are a ton cheaper...) and loaded up on stuff. After we shopped, we met Nanny (Logan's great-grandmother) to eat for lunch. Logan was exhausted when we got home and took a good afternoon nap. While she napped, we cleaned!!! It was nice to get everything back together. That period of sickness seemed to throw everything off, our house was a disaster! Not anymore - we are squeaky clean - ahh, much better! Tonight, we made dinner for my parents and Nanny. We had trash bag tacos - so much fun! We first had them at a friend's house, and enjoyed it so much we decided it would be fun to do them tonight. I should have taken pictures, sorry.

Hope everyone had a good day :-)

Decisions

Decisions are hard. If your thinking this is going to be a deep post, you're wrong - haha. I am so indecisive, it's lame. I know I said I would post pictures of Logan's cake smash from yesterday, I mean, I really should after I teased with the picture of the damage she single-handedly did to the cake. It's not her birthday, she's not one yet! Should I? It kind of ruins it for the people getting an invitation, or does it? I'm undecided -

still deciding - I get all worked up over stuff like this...haha

We went to visit Cody at work today - it was fun. The weather here was beautiful (interesting material tonight huh?) and it was nice to just be outside. Dadadadadadada had a good time with Logan too...

The worm she is chewing loving on, she got today on a shopping trip with her grandma! Fun! She also got the cute flower bow - but they are so great, they will probably get a post of their own. Actually, I know they will, because I already took the cutie-pa-tootie pictures with the best little model today.

Ok - I've put it off long enough...you win. I'll post. I really wanted too the whole time.
she was just getting started :-)
For the most part, this is the first time Logan has ever experienced anything sugar. We are particular about what she eats. She typically eats all organic, homemade, whole wheat food. She doesn't know the difference and loves the food she eats. Let me tell you, this child did not hesitate to devour this cake. After we took it away, she ate what had fallen on her little leg!

If you get an invitation in the mail, just pretend like it's the first time you've seen a cake smash picture. For all my blog readers, enjoy! And everyone else too, you know you wanted to see!

this and that

I am rarely up this late - want to know what's keeping me up? Knitting. I think it is truly addicting. The sad thing...I'm not really knitting, you know with needles and all - I'm using a kit. I still think it's awesome. I'll post some pictures of our creations tomorrow, as well as our plan as to what to do with all the hats! We are excited! Suspense...haha.

We were late for church this morning. It seems to be a growing trend lately. I like to blame it on Logan, but it's really not her fault. Every Sunday I think I am getting earlier and earlier, but I seem to be arriving to church later and later. Maybe next Sunday we will be on time.

She has been feeling much better - acting like her happy little self, and sleeping like herself. She is such a joy to be around. She is waving now. I wish I could get it on video, because it is not the typical baby wave (open closing hand). Logan waves like she is riding a bull at the rodeo. She waves her arm all over the place. I don't care how she does it, she does it!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Happy Valentines Day

this and that

I wish Logan had some toys to play with.

She has nothing, can you tell? She is such a mess. She hardly wants to play on the floor anymore - she is pulling up on everything. While at a friend's house the other evening, Logan cruised all along the back of their dining chairs, they had rails so she could easily hang on and cruise! We are so proud of her. She is really making great progress. Still no crawling though.

Yesterday, Cody and I were able to go shopping for Logan! It was nice to get out together - although we missed her terribly and all we talked about was her. She needed clothes - she really did. Her winter clothes were too short in the arms and legs. She has stayed small for so long, we have gotten great wear out of her clothes, but it was starting to show - ha. We ended up getting her mostly spring/summer stuff. It is so much fun shopping for her. I love it. We didn't even enter an adult clothing store - we hit every kid's store they had.

Logan has been sleeping much better at night - it was just a phase I guess. I am going to make her 12 month check-up appointment this week - it is overwhelming to think she is almost 12 months old. The past almost 11 months have been fabulous, she is such a joy. Even in the beginning, when it was so hard, when I wished her older, it was still good. Now that she is older, I find myself wishing her younger. She is such a joy to be around.

target

O Target...why o why...do I have to spend so much money when I walk through your doors?

I think they have something in the air there - I never walk out of that store spending less that $100 - sad I know. There's the baby stuff, and Logan always needs something, so I must enter there. From the necessary baby items, we stroll over the toy section; Logan always needs a new toy. Next is the o so lovely, personal care section. How I love to buy new shampoo, soap, etc...Why? I have no idea. I have at least three open bottles of shampoo in the shower. I can't help it. Right next to that, are the cleaning products. I love cleaning products. Don't misunderstand, I don't love to clean, I love cleaning products. Clorox Anywhere is my friend. The grocery section is right around the corner. Honestly, I really do not get that excited over their groceries, but I am already there, so I typically buy there. Can you tell we don't get out much?

Obviously, we took our routine trip to Target today. Logan was not a fan of sitting in the buggy, so I carried her, pushed the buggy, and shopped. It was fun - and I came out right around my usual price - how do I do that - every time?

Here are some pictures, just for kicks...
"Mommy, are you back there? Why do you always have that thing in front of your face?"
