Mom & Me Monday

So..stepping out from behind the camera is difficult sometimes, especially when you constantly catch yourself saying, "make sure the focus is on our eyes!" or "you know only to get waist up, right?" or "babe, you have to take the lens cap off!" I really don't like having my picture taken, but I do love having memories, preferably with myself included. Julie, over at The Peanut Gallery, has a weekly blog-hop called Mom n' Me Monday's. It is to encourage you to get in front of the camera - and have pictures taken with your kid(s)! Looking through my pictures, I have thousands of pictures of Cody & Logan, and not much beats a Daddy and baby picture, and I could look at them all day long. However, the pictures of Logan and I are few and far between! We will have to work on that :-) So, here is a picture that was taken a few months ago - it is my favorite picture of Logan and myself when she was at that age - photo was taken by Mckmama. I look forward to stepping out from behind the camera - and having more great photos with my little darling.

time flies...

Everyone always says how time flies once you have a child. Well, I do believe it's true. A lot of my thoughts lately have been about this time last year. I still have a hard time believing Logan is a year old - and not a tiny, fragile, premature infant any longer. The first month of her life seems a like a blur - and I wish I had taken more pictures. Before having a premature baby, I was not at all familiar with preemies, the NICU, etc...It was all new. Now, I feel like I could write a book. It seemed like we were learning something new every day. I can't help but look at pictures of her when she was a baby - I am sure every mom does it, especially a first time mom. This particular picture was taken a year ago today.

The outift was preemie size, and we had it tucked in behind her
the socks are preemie size - they were more like boots :-)

Time does fly...

This is her happy face...

And she is happy because...
Her grandpa's surgery went great! No hip removal, just the excess bone.
He was in good spirits and doing well after surgery -
thanks for the prayers.

Ut o...

I smell trouble.
Think it may be time for a gate.

She climbed all the way up them - and did great.
She is growing up way too fast.
And I love her jammies. Green and polka dot work well for her.

We went to speech therapy this morning. Her therapist was really impressed with how she is drinking from a straw - and that she was eating a wide variety of foods. She will get another speech evaluation in three weeks, to see where she stands as far as speech/communication. Trust me, when she swats your hand away when she wants something else, she is communicating pretty well in my book.

just because

just because she's stinkin' cute...

and she has the funniest facial expressions

and she sticks her tongue out, on command.
Seriously, who would teach their child this type of behavior?
Certainly, not me.

and between sticking her tongue out and eating O's,
she has to take a minute to give Mr. Thumbkins some love.

just because...

Movin' on Up...

to the eastside to the big girl tub...Now I will have that song in my head the rest of the night. You know the song I'm talking about - and thanks to me, you will have it in your head too :-) On to more important things....

Logan took a bath in the real bath tub tonight
first time.
She did great, only scared the bageebees out of us a few times

I think we should get her some more bath toys...not.

wrinkled toes...
my favorite.

would you believe...

that this little girl had another birthday party yesterday?
she did...
and she got to
spend it with this
miracle.

He is Logan's grandfather, Cody's dad. For those of you that are wondering, "What makes him a miracle?" Allow me to tell you. On October 8th, 2009, he was involved in a motorcycle accident. Hitting the back of a stopped truck, going about 60mph, he flew about 65ft before hitting the ground. Coincidently miraculously, there was an ambulance 2 cars behind him. He was alert, talking, even gave the driver his wife's phone number. By the time we arrived at the hospital, his blood pressure hit rock bottom, and he was bleeding internally, and his future certainly did not look good. For the next 2 months, we prayed continuously for God's healing to be done. We watched a strong man fight during this time. He often breathed over the machine that was breathing for him, fought with a tube feeding him, fought infection upon infection, surgery after surgery, even coded during one of his surgeries, received numerous blood transfusions - this man is ALIVE and living today. Not only is he alive, but he is sitting in a wheelchair, awake, alert, with no brain damage. And, he got to watch his precious granddaughter enjoy her first birthday party.

Please pray this week, as he goes into another surgery, to remove his hip socket. Hopefully, this surgery will allow him more movement and less pain., Please pray for success, as well as peace.

We got to spend the day with two miracles yesterday, what a blessing.

New addition...

We have a new addition to our family, actually 5 new additions!!! Logan got fish for her birthday!

And if she were to name them,
and she did...
their names would be...
Pa

Ba

Ffff

Mmmm (the little yellow guy, or girl, on bottom)

and... Ehhh

Welcome :-)

More...cake!

O, you want to see Logan digging in her cake? Ok...

At first, she looked around like, "Is this a trick, ya'll are really going to let me have this?!" Then she would go at it really fast like she was going to get caught if she didn't hurry! It was so funny - and of course she loved everyone laughing with her...:-)

Thanks everyone for making Logan's birthday great!
